Holidays in the hills: what to do?

Trekking

Walking is one of the sporting activities that offers the greatest benefits. It is good for the body and the spirit. So why not take advantage of the beautiful trails in the area? There are numerous marked trails, winding through woods and vineyards.

Alternatively you can visit walking the villages near to Castagnole, rich in history and tradition. Walking for only 3 km you reach Montemagno, and continuing for another 3 km, along the coast road to admire the hills up to the Alps, you reach Grana, for a visit to the Baroque parish Church dedicated to the Assumption, with a Hall of Reliquaries and a Museum of Furnishings and Sacred Art. Going along for about 14 km, you will return following the SP38 and meeting the Big Bench, installed on a jug from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the hills.

From Castagnole, in the opposite direction, going about 5 km through the vineyards, you reach Scurzolengo, a long and narrow town dominated by its Castle.

Leaving Castagnole, in the direction of Calliano, there is the Giant Bench, installed in 2018 by the Ferraris Company and part of the Big Bench Community (BBCP) project launched to support local communities, tourism and craft excellence. Since 2010, the year the first bench was built, more than 80 have been realized not only in Piedmont, and thanks to private sponsors.

E-Bike and Cycle tourism

From Asti and Moncalvo it is possible to rent an e-bike to go into the territories of the Monferrato, to discover countries, castles, food and wine specialties and spend an unforgettable holiday!
